Our Christmas News letter
December 2009
To our dear family and friends,
Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Hope this Holiday season finds you happy and healthy!
Our family has had a great 2009! Some of our most memorable events were camping trips to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Lake Powell. We continue to enjoy the great outdoors in our trailer as camping is a favorite past time of our family.
Hayley (turns 7 in Dec) can say all she “wants for Christmas is her two front teeth!” Her new toothless grin is too cute...and she has loved having the tooth fairy come! Hayley is enjoying the first grade with her teacher Mrs. Richins. She has done well with the adjustment to all day in school. Her favorite subject is spelling.
Brooklyn (age 5) loves going to preschool two days a week. I take turns teaching it along with other neighborhood moms. She has turned into a little chef. Almost on a daily basis Brooklyn asks if we can make cookies, muffins or anything else she can think of. She has her own apron and stool, and is by my side at just about every dinner preparation. Brooklyn also loves arts and crafts, and to read.
Brinley (age 2) always has a happy smile on her face. She loves playing with her older sisters. She is quite the little talker..learning new words each week. We love to hear her sweet little voice. Brinley loves babies. She is constantly pointing them out and playing with her own baby doll. Brinley, and the entire family, will be thrilled to welcome our new little baby girl in mid February.
I enjoy motherhood, and am excited for our new addition. I am currently serving as the relief society secretary and that has been a nice calling to get to know more friends in our neighborhood. Kyle returned back to work at Cummins Rocky Mountain as a technician, he prefers this and is happy in what he does.
We would love to share more family photos and updates with you at out blog spot kandjblack.blogspot.com We hope to hear from many of you this holiday season.
Merry Christmas,
Love Kyle, Jodi, Hayley, Brooklyn, and Brinley

All I want for Chistmas is my two front teeth!
on a side note: The girls have been doing extra chores to earn quarters. I took them to the dollar store today so they could each pick out a Christmas Present for each other. It was funny to watch and overhear their conversations. Hayley picked out a T-Rex for Brooklyn. On the drive home she says: "Brooklyn, I DID NOT get you a dinosaur" Too funny! When they get out of the car Brooklyn says: "Now Hayley, not even ONE little peak! They were so excited for each other.

The Nutcracker
Mom, Megan and I took Hayley and Brooklyn and their second cousins Vivien and Sam to go see the Nutcracker this Thanksgiving weekend.
We went to a tea party before the show where you could meet all of the actors and have treats. The kids loved that!
